The very sight of these Veterans begging on our
streets
should outrage every American who sees them.
The American People can no longer stand idly by and let our
government continue to
perpetrate this
shameful act of neglect
and
betrayal
upon these
Our Most Cherished Heroes !!!
On January 5th
2011 a Bill was reintroduced on the floor of the 112th Congress.
The Bill is entitled House Resolution 136.
It was introduced by Representative Steve Israel of the 2nd
Congressional District of New York.
The purpose of the Bill is to
amend the Tax code and allow taxpayers to designate a portion of
their Income tax payment to provide assistance to homeless veterans.
I urge you to contact your Congressmen and Senators and request
that they sign on as a Cosponsor of H.R.136, and do everything they
can to assure its passage.
Please do not allow this national
disgrace to continue for one more day. |
