The Security and Prosperity Partnership offered by the three amigos, President Bush, President Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Harper has been killed for now. Our problem is however that like the border issue this issue won't die. The elitists are never rejected they are only re-directed. The unelected group of global benefactors that write these proposals for congress to sign but not to read have hit a bump. It's amazing with real eyes what you can realize. Now we can watch the think tanks employ the method of gradualization to get what they want. Right now they are at 0% of the 100% mark. The think tanks will debate the issue in the media until there is a compromise of 50% of what they want. Then it will continue until there is another compromise of 50% putting them at 75% of their mark. Then again another compromise of 50% putting them at 87.5%. One more time brings it to 93.75% and on and on. Then they can balance whatever % they fall short by gutting regulations and selective enforcement.
Before they turn us/U.S. into SAPP'S lets take a look at this agreement. We know that instead of being transparent this arrangement has been invisible and covert almost up to the moment congress said no to the funding. Now either congress used real eyes to read it or they realize there is not enough information for real eyes to see. Very few details outside of the insider. We also know that free trade is free for multinational corporations and costly for the taxpayers. The free trade agreements are not fair trade agreements. Individuals cannot benefit from free trade or so called free markets. For example, if a busload of seniors go north to Canada to buy prescription medicine upon their return they are stopped at the border and their medication is confiscated. The FDA says there is no way to know if these drugs are safe even though they are made by the same manufacturer. Are all medicines we take manufactured in the United States? Ironically though, if a truckload of illegal's come in thru the southern border with illegal narcotics they will probably get in. The drugs coming from the Mexico however are as safe as food and toys coming from China. As far as free markets go, the Pharmaceutical companies have made it illegal for the United States to negotiate drug prices. No discount for a major purchaser like medicare/medicaid. Who's in charge here?
With the Federal Government being run by the elites, the people the President refers to as his base, we have seen government being totally negligent in it's responsibility to the states. Totally selective in what laws it will enforce. An enemy of the State if you will. As tolerant, humble, working class citizens we mind our business and always give the benefit of the doubt. To be fair to others we don't let our authority exceed our responsibility and to be fair to ourselves we don't let our responsibility exceed our authority. For this we hold ourselves accountable. This is conscience. The lobbyists have a different outlook. They seek to legislate all assets and authority unto themselves and legislate all liability and responsibility to U.S./us while never being accountable. This is corporatism.
The Security And Prosperity Partnership is actually a great idea. That's as far as it goes. Once we figure in the assignment of authority, responsibility, assets, and liability, (the only ingredients that make up a fair trade) then once again we see a lack of accountability or conscience. This Idea was developed in March 2005. Like so much of this administrations covertness very little was presented for oversight and discussion. President Bush says it is comical that we have fears and reservations about this arrangement. Is this statement based on what we don't know about his offer, or what we do know based on past performance? Either way I would only expect a statement like this from Alberto Gonzales.
