Amanda Dinnigan is the youngest daughter of Local 361 member Bob Dinnigan and his wife Arlene. She is a beautiful little 8 year old girl who has been seriously injured in a terrible automobile accident. She is presently paralyzed from the neck down and is breathing on a ventilator. Amanda has sustained  severe spinal cord injury as a result of the accident. The details about the accident can be found at the following Newsday Link.
The other three girls that were in the truck with Amanda at the time of the accident were her 3 cousins Emma, Ashley and Erin. Emma also suffered a broken neck and was placed on a ventilator. She has progressed to a point where she is off the ventilator and has taken several steps. Ashley is okay, and Erin has a cast on her broken ankle.
Amanda is scheduled to be transferred to
The Shriner’s Children Hospital in Philadelphia
where she will undergo months of rehabilitation therapy. During that time we need to get the house prepared for Amanda to be able to come home. She will need round the clock nurses and the rooms modified to fit all the equipment and hospital bed. Some of the modifications will include installation of a ramp, doors widened and room sizes enlarged.

If you would like to help this brave little girl in her fight to make a complete recovery, send a check made out too Mr. Robert Dinnigan and mail it to:
